Appraisals

Need an appraisal for insurance purposes, or want to know an object’s value in preparation for sale?  Michael is certified to give you an accurate evaluation of your item’s history and value.

Why do I need an appraisal?

People get appraisals for all sorts of reasons: They’re curious about the value of a certain heirloom that’s been in their family for years. They need an appraisal for insurance purposes, or they’re downsizing and want to know an object’s value in preparation for sale.

Other reasons include:

  • estate planning
  • equitable distribution
  • insurance
  • inheritance
  • divorce
  • curiosity

What does an appraisal include?

Our appraisal services include formal written appraisals as well as general verbal appraisals.   Both rely on current market trends and a professional appraiser’s knowledge of antiques to place an accurate value on an object.  We can determine the authenticity of your item(s), give you a current market price as well as replacement cost value, and provide you with valuable historical research.  Our written services will include a professional personal property appraisal report that can be defended in court if need be.
